Senior Delegation from DHS visits Israel

A senior delegation of the Science and Technology Directorate of the United States Department of Homeland Security visited Israel last week, as official guests of the Bureau of the Chief Scientist in the Ministry of Public Security.
The American delegation was headed by Dr. Sharla Rausch, Head of the Human Factors Division and Dr. Rolf Dietrich, Deputy Director of Research at the DHS. The meetings in Israel were part of the framework of the Agreement signed between the DHS and the Ministry of Public Security and took place two weeks prior to the annual bilateral meetings scheduled to be held in Washington D.C. during the week of November 16th., 2008.

In 1993, when MK Moshe Shahal was the Minister of Public Security, Brigadier General Yaakov Amar was brought from the Israel Police to the Ministry to assume the position of the head of the Projects and Building Department. Over the years, Brig-Gen has managed, promoted and led dozens of building projects for the Israel Police and the Israel Prison Service.

Ministry's policing high-school study track hits the great outdoors

The Ministry of Public Security, the Israel Police and its 180 police high school track across Israel, marked the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel with a track across the "Israel Path".The track lasted three days, walking through the scenery of the Israel Police northern district.   The event was designed to strengthen the connection between the students, Israel Police and the Israel's landscape.
