| Basic Principles Of Ministerial Policy, 2006 |
|
|
|
| Gidon Ezra, Minister of Public Security |
|
The basic principles of the Ministry, as outlined by the former Minister of Public Security, Gideon Ezra, in November 2005.
Dear Readers,
The Ministry of Public Security, together with its two executive arms―the Israel Police and the Israel Prison Service, is the central pillar of public order, law enforcement and internal security in the State of Israel.
The rising tide of violence and criminality and the deterioration in citizens’ personal security disrupt the smooth functioning of society and weaken its resilience, they damage the national economy and threaten our quality of life. The core of the Ministry’s efforts throughout 2006, as we pursue our regular policing duties, must be therefore to maintain a relentless battle against the forces of violence and criminality and to reinforce citizens’ individual security.
At the same time, not for a moment can we let down our guard against the terrorist threat.
The budget supplement we have won for 2006 will help us realize the policies and meet the targets I have set for the Ministry.
I have every confidence that by our joint and precisely targeted efforts we can make a significant difference to our citizens’ quality of life and keep them better protected than ever before.
Sincerely,
Gid’on Ezra, Minister of Public Security
