Minister Policy, 2008 - Strategic Goals

Strategic goals derived from the Minister of Public Security's policy

A. The civilian is the main focus: Significant improvement in the citizens' and residents' personal security and sense of personal security.

B. The felon is the main focus: Enhancement of the effectiveness in fighting serious crime, public corruption and financial crimes in Israel.

C. Expansion and upgrade of the correctional system and alternatives to imprisonment in response to the criminal and security needs, while also meeting the requirements of the Detention Law and the regulations derived from it.

D. Waging an uncompromising war against road accidents, in order to minimize their extent and severity.

E. Defining the Ministry of Public Security's role in national preparedness during a state of emergency.

F. Significantly improving the manner and nature of service to the public.

G. Strengthening the contribution of international relations on the part of the Ministry and its agencies with corresponding organizations around the globe, in order to achieve the Ministry's goals.

H. Advancement of legislative procedures aimed at improving the operational capabilities of the Ministry’s agencies.

I. Structural and organizational changes aimed at improving the organizational structure of the Ministry and its agencies.

J. Effective planning and management of the resources at the disposal of the Ministry and its agencies.
