 The "City without Violence" Program

The "City without Violence" is an innovative work model designed to confront all types of violence on a city-wide/system-wide level. The program was developed by Dr. Orly Innes Kenig, the head of the national professional staff, and was first implemented in the city of Eilat, where it is has been running successfully since 2004.

Due to the program's success in Eilat in addition to the increasing phenomenon of violence in the Israeli society, the Ministerial Committee for the Battle against Violence, Chaired by the Minister of Public Security, Avi Dicter, decided in September 2006 to implement the program in other cities other than Eilat, in full cooperation with the IFCJ.

To date, the "City without Violence" program is implemented in 12 different cities and is in process to be implemented in 60 cities by the end of 2009.
