In today's era, when fighting crime and global terror is on the top of the public agenda, the use of trained dogs in the security and policing field both in Israel and abroad has become more and more common and efficient. The Israel Witness Protection Authority
The phenomenon of threatened witnesses causes the legal procedures against defendants to be dragged out, forcing the state to offer plea bargains since the witness for the prosecution reconsidered his/her actions in fear for their life.
In January 2006, the Israeli Government approved the establishment of a new witness protection authority which will be subordinate to the Ministry of Public Security and will provide witnesses with a secure location with around the clock security, as well as psychological assistance enabling them to confront the pressures and dangers throughout the trial.

Money Laundering
Money laundering is the processing of criminal proceeds to disguise their illegal origin. This process is of critical importance, as it enables the criminal to enjoy these profits without jeopardizing their source.
IMPA is the Israeli Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) established so as to assist in the investigation and prevention of money laundering and terror financing related crimes, and as part of the global effort regarding such crimes.
The FIU strives to insure the existence of an adequate anti money laundering regime in Israel by strengthening the flow of financial intelligence information to the competent authorities.

Israel – Hezbollah Conflict, 2006
On July 12, 2006, Israel suffered an unprovoked cross-border attack from Lebanese territory. The attack was carried out by the Hezbollah, a terrorist organization which is a party to the Government of Lebanon. The attack was carried out against Israelis citizens - civilians and soldiers - while on sovereign Israeli soil.
In these circumstances, Israel had no alternative but to defend itself and its citizens.  For this reason, Israel reacted to an act of war by a neighboring sovereign state. The purpose of the Israeli operation was two-fold - to free its abducted soldiers, and to remove the terrorist threat from its northern border.

Israel's Security Fence
In today's era, when the whole word is united in fighting global terrorism, Israel too has both the right and the obligation to protect its citizens from this horrific crime against humanity.
One of the operation concepts implemented by Israel in order to save innocent lives is a security fence that will physically block suicide bombers from entering targeted areas, and the smuggling of weapons and explosives into Israel.
To date, the fence has proven to be effective, and has saved many innocent lives.
