The meeting will be held in Jerusalem's Inbal Hotel between Thursday the 29th and Friday the 30th of May, 2008. The Ministers of Interior and Homeland Security from Germany, The United States, Canada, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, England and the Palestinian Minister of Interior (as an observer) are scheduled to participate as guests of Minister Dicter, Minister of Public Security.
After discussions with the German Minister of Interior, Mr. Wolfgang Schäuble and the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Mr. Michael Chertoff, Minister Avi Dicter, Minister of Public Security initiated a proposal to establish a forum which will bring together Interior and Homeland Security Ministers. The forum's goal is to promote and strengthen the cooperation between the countries and to share the knowledge, capabilities and experience accumulated among the countries during their war against terror while facing other homeland security challenges.
During their visit, the Minister will be meeting with the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres, and with the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, M.K. Ehud Olmert. Full biographies of Ministers of Interior and guest lecturers can be found on the bottom of this page.
The conference sessions will be as follows:
(Thursday, May 29th) First session: "Trends in Global Terror and Characteristics of the Threats"
