The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews
The Friendship Fund was established in 1983 in Chicago, USA, by Rabbi Yekhiel Eckstein (the current Fund president), to stand as a strong and lasting bridge between the Evangelical Christian community in the United States and the Jewish people in the land of Israel. The fruit of this tie between the two communities has been solidarity, moral support and material assistance, that has time and again proved of crucial importance in strengthening the position of the Jewish people in Israel and their status in the international arena. The Fund opened its office doors in Jerusalem in 2000, since when it has donated more than 450 million NIS (approximately $ 95 million) to hundreds of projects in the areas of immigration and immigrant absorption, welfare and security. The Fund has worked in partnership with the Prime Minister’s Office, numerous government ministries, the Jewish Agency, the Jewish Foundation Fund (Keren Hayesod), and dozens of Local Government Authorities, organizations and voluntary associations around the country.
