One of the main advantages of the "Shalhevet" system is its ability to unify operational procedures between different fire stations. Additionally, the system also provides users with guidance based on proper procedural protocols of the Fire and Rescue Services, according to the guidelines of the fire commissioner.

The "Shalhevet" system replaced the previous program used by the fire commission. As of September 2011, all 24 operations rooms of the fire services as well as the national command center, are all connected through the "Shalhevet" system.

The "Shalhevet" system has six main features:

  • A list of daily events including an electronic map with the ability to track and locate fire engines (GIS)
  • A shift manager
  • An investigative tool
  • A model for preventing fires
  • Statistical reports
