The "Sderot Youth City 2008" events took place over four days by a pool side in western Negev. This is the second "Sderot Youth City" organized and sponsored by Metzila, the Ministry of Public Security's Community and Crime Prevention Department.
Hundreds of teens, Sderot residents, took part in the fun-filled events, getting away from the daily routine of their city.
The "Sderot Youth City" officially launched the summer activities in Sderot. During the four days, the youngsters enjoyed fun and games in the pool, cooking and art workshops, rides, and juggling and drum acts. At the end of every day, the youngsters of Sderot enjoyed live performances from leading Israeli artists and bands, including warm up acts of local young talents and bands from Sderot – as part of the "Sderock" program.
The "Sderot Youth City" events were produced by the Youth Department in the Municipality of Sderot, due to the generous contributions of the United Israel Appeal of Canada, Omanut La'am, Gevanim and the National Road Safety Authority.
The children of Sderot were ecstatic, enjoying every second of the activities. Other summer activities planned for the area include film screenings, sleepless activity nights and outdoor camping.
