During a ceremony in the Ministry of Public Security, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Dan Brinker was appointed the new Director General of the Ministry. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Public Security, Avi Dicter; the Commissioner of the Israel Police, Inspector General Dudi Cohen; the Commissioner of the Israel Prison Service, Lieutenant General Benny Kaniak; officials of the Ministry and senior officers from the Israel Police.
Maj. Gen. Brinker will assume office after filling major commanding and operational roles in the Israel Police throughout his 27 years of service. His last position in the police was Deputy Commissioner (2000-2002).
Maj. Gen. Brinker is replacing Rani Falk, who completed three and a half years as director general in the Ministry and 36 years in the security field.
